Questions

Hospital Notary FAQ

Can a hospital patient sign if they're medicated?

The signer must be alert, aware, and able to communicate their intent at the moment of signing. A notary cannot notarize for someone who is sedated or unresponsive — we'll explain the requirements before dispatch so there are no wasted trips.

Does the patient need photo ID in the hospital?

Yes — a valid government-issued photo ID, or credible identifying witnesses as permitted under Texas law. We'll walk you through options when you book.

Can hospital staff serve as witnesses?

Many facilities prohibit staff from witnessing. Plan to bring disinterested witnesses if your document requires them — we'll tell you how many when you book.
